You want long blooming? Teucrium aroanium delivers it in spades. This charming Greek germander forms a fragrant, low-growing groundcover covered in masses of mauve, two-lipped flowers over an impressively long season, adding soft color and texture to sunny borders, rock gardens, path edges, and dry garden beds.

Also known as creeping germander, this Mediterranean perennial has aromatic foliage and a tidy spreading habit that works beautifully between stones, along walls, in containers, or at the front of a water-wise border. Bees and other pollinators appreciate the nectar-rich flowers, while gardeners love its toughness, fragrance, and relaxed, natural look. Pair it with thyme, lavender, yarrow, salvia, grasses, and silver foliage for a classic dry-garden combination.

Plant Teucrium aroanium in full sun with well-drained soil. Once established, it is drought tolerant, low maintenance, and well suited to lean conditions. Trim lightly after bloom to keep it dense and fresh. Explore more reliable garden favorites in our Explore more drought-tolerant groundcovers.
