Abutilon - David's Red｜ Other Products

A very flashy flowering maple for brightening those shadier garden spots, Abutilon ‘David’s Red’ brings radiant color and hummingbird appeal in a big, beautiful way. Large, widely flaring red blooms, up to 3" across, face outward from the branches so they can properly grab your attention — and entice every neighborhood hummer in the process.
This showy abutilon shrub can bloom nearly year-round in mild climates, creating a long-lasting display of lantern-like flowers against classic maple-shaped green leaves. Multi-branching to about 8' tall and 6' wide, it makes a lush evergreen backdrop, privacy screen, espalier subject, or bold container plant, and can easily be pruned smaller to fit tighter garden spaces.
Plant Abutilon ‘David’s Red’ in bright shade to part sun with compost-amended, loamy, well-drained soil for best performance. Regular water keeps it looking its most floriferous and fresh. Colorful, hummingbird-friendly, and wonderfully useful in shade gardens, this red-flowering maple is a standout for gardeners who want vivid blooms where sun-loving plants may sulk.
