Fantastically fragrant and cute as a button, Mentha requienii is the tiny-leaved Corsican Mint gardeners love for planting between pavers, tucking into rock gardens, and spilling through small containers. This low-growing mint groundcover stays under 6" tall and spreads as far as you allow, forming a soft green carpet with an unmistakably fresh, minty scent when brushed.
Also known as Corsican Mint, this charming edible herb is famously associated with crème de menthe and brings wonderful fragrance to steppable pathways, patio edges, herb gardens, fairy gardens, and sandy or rocky planting pockets. Its miniature texture makes it especially appealing in small-scale designs where a lush, aromatic groundcover is needed without overwhelming nearby plants.
Plant Mentha requienii in part shade to sun with excellent drainage and regular moisture. It is a great choice for containers, sandy soil, rock gardens, and gaps between stones where drainage is sharp. Keep it gently watered while it establishes.
